SOUGEN is a very lucky Savannah! His new owner drove multiple states to fetch him from an illegal location, slept in the car (with his son) on the way back to bring him back to his new home. These pictures are during a stop as he was safely confined during the driving parts.

We at Savannah Rescue wish all the best to Sougen and his new owner in settling in, but think it looks like Sougen was quite okay with his adventure and open to the possibilities of his new life.

Thank you to all that open your hearts to our rescued Savannahs and are prepared to go that extra mile (or a few hundred!) to help them <3

Savannah Cat Rescue

One of the applicants for Seti feels that we are not clear that Savannah Rescue has many more applicants than cats in our rescue and we should make it more obvious how difficult it might be to be a successful adopter.
We do have over 13,000 getting emails from our groups.io account about available cats, and we do not get many cats into Rescue. We do find that many of our successful adopters have had to apply more than once to be successful, and have had to have some patience and understanding.
Savannah Rescue is grateful that we have the luxury of being able to consider multiple homes for our cats to find the best fit. We understand that means likely disappointment for the majority of applicants, that is the downside of this scenario. It also can be a lot of work responding to all the emails, so please be patient with us during the process, being polite to us increases your chance of success after all :-)

PENDING - SETI - F2 MALE - MAGALIA, CA

Seti is an estimated 3-4 year old neutered F2 male Savannah currently in Magalia, CA. His former owners lost their home in the Paradise CA fire of 2018 that decimated that town. A friend of their's took in Seti and his F4 brother, but subsequently the husband of the owner developed cancer and rather than rebuild they made the hard decision to move in with a daughter in NV. There was no room for additional pets. The son of the foster home has adopted the F4 but Seti needs an understanding home.

Seti is a large Savannah, and this makes him attractive to many but has disconcerted the foster. She worries about picking him up (so he has not been picked up in 2 years) and allowing him around her younger children (8 year old) despite no evidence of aggression. Seti hisses at the multiple other cats of the household (whom he probably wasn't properly introduced to) but tolerates them all, he has been tolerant of the elderly small dog in the home also. The house has an outdoor enclosure that he is very fond of, so a new home with the ability to offer that would be ideal.

Seti was reported by the former owner to be up to date on vaccines. He is neutered and perfect with the litterbox, he is accustomed to a large plastic tote box with wood pellet litter. He was also raised on a raw meat diet and refuses commercial canned and kibble food. Therefore a new home would need to be prepared to offer a properly balanced raw diet or purchase that (there are commercial options).

Seti is reported to be very hissy, but has never been reported to lash out. The current home is afraid of him hence we don't know if he is at all likely to do anything. He climbs onto the person's bed at night and refuses to allow other cats on the bed whilst there. He has never attacked the other cats though. He loves to be petted but we do not know how he is being picked up.

The adoptive home would need to be able to drive to Magalia, CA with a large dog crate (so that he can be easily crated). If you think you would love to offer Seti a home, and your household might be a great fit, please email info@svrescue.com and tell us your location, about your household, and why Seti would be happy with you. His adoption fee will be $200.
